Paskenta Brewery & Distillery

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians recently opened the first tribal-owned brewery and distillery in California. It is a completely self-contained brewing and fine spirit distillery outfitted with state-of-the-art fermenting and production capabilities.

The brewery and distillery are based in Corning, CA. The brewery is currently producing several beers and ales.

They also produce a variety of bourbons and vodkas. They use obsidian – “sacred glass from the sky” as some Native American tribes call it – to make their spirits.

Using obsidian as the foundation of their distillery is a unique way to honor and represent their Native American roots. Obsidian is a precious volcanic glass that has been mined and worked for thousands of years.

The Paskenta Band of Nomlaki has made significant investments into the economy and community of Tehama County through its casino. They donate hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to local health, safety and education programs.
